Developmental Play Assessment
90-min session + report: $500
A developmental play assessment gives you essential information in understanding your child's development through their natural play behavior. It not only provides a holistic view of your child’s abilities across several domains, but also serves as a foundation for early interventions and tailored parenting strategies. By focusing on play, Tap-in Parenting can capture your child’s true capabilities and challenges in a setting that is both engaging and revealing.
Roberta will dedicate a 90-min session with you and your child at home or playground. During the session, Roberta will gather information about your child’s developmental history, engage your child through play, and identify learning styles and areas for growth. After the session, you will receive a detailed report recommending parenting strategies, developmental toys/activities, referrals, and a list of accommodations for school and home. Understanding how your child’s brain and body work are VITAL in supporting their learning process!
Productive Playroom Design
$175/hr with 3 hour minimum
Discounts for 5+ hours
As a mom and educator, Roberta knows the importance of organized, accessible and calming playrooms. A productive playroom is essential for fostering creativity, learning, and social-emotional development in children. It goes beyond just a space for toys: it’s an environment designed to encourage imagination, problem-solving, and independent play. A space where kids are in charge of entertaining themselves!
As part of this service, Roberta will:
-
Design, order materials and set up your dream play space based on your child’s developmental needs and interests.
-
Help with purging/clean out what you no longer need or use.
-
Implement and organize toy rotation system.
-
Order supplies and materials for set up
Here’s why a Productive Playroom matters:
-
Encourages Creativity & Imagination: A thoughtfully designed playroom with open-ended toys helps children plan and explore their ideas. It allows them to invent stories, create projects, and express themselves freely.
-
Enhances Learning & Cognitive Development: Play is fundamental in children’s learning. By incorporating educational elements while having fun, a playroom will support cognitive growth, motor needs and critical thinking skills.
-
Promotes Organization & Responsibility: A productive playroom teaches children how to keep things tidy. Using labeled bins, shelves, and designated spaces for different activities encourages motor planning and organizational skills.
-
Supports Emotional & Social Growth: Playrooms provide a safe space for children to process emotions, practice social interactions, and develop communication skills.
-
Encourages Independence & Focus: A well-organized playroom allows children to make their own choices about play, which fosters independence and self-motivation. A clutter-free environment also reduces distractions and helps them focus on their ideas.
-
Provides a Safe & Stimulating Environment: Safety is a priority in any playroom. Child-friendly furniture, non-toxic materials, and age-appropriate toys create a secure space where children can explore freely without risks.
-
Balances Active & Quiet Play: A productive playroom includes zones for different types of activities—active play and quiet play. This balance ensures children get both physical movement and mental stimulation.
